​​Kentaro Shimada

創価大学教育学部教育学科講師。専門は、比較国際教育学、国際教育開発、教育の公平性。教育と社会移動、世界市民教育にも関心を持ち、特にアフリカ・アジア地域を対象に、教育政策や学校実践が人々の機会や可能性をどのように広げるのかを研究している。

創価大学では、比較国際教育学や国際開発教育論など国際教育関連科目を担当し、ユネスコスクール支援にも携わっている。神戸大学大学院国際協力研究科博士後期課程修了、博士（学術）。現職以前は、国連児童基金（UNICEF）教育コンサルタント、日本学術振興会特別研究員PD、京都大学特定助教を務めた。

Kentaro Shimada is a Lecturer in the Department of Education, Faculty of Education, at Soka University, Japan. His research focuses on comparative and international education, with particular interests in international development education, educational equity, social mobility, and global citizenship education. He examines how education policies and school practices can expand people’s opportunities and capabilities, especially in Africa and Asia.

He teaches Comparative and International Education,  International Development in Eduation and is also involved in supporting UNESCO Schools. He received his Ph.D. from Kobe University. Before joining Soka University, he worked as an education consultant for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow, and a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at Kyoto University.
